Once there was a hungry dog. One day he found a piece of meat on the road. He became very happy and picked it up quickly. He wanted to eat it in a safe place. So he started walking toward a small bridge.
When he was walking on the bridge, he looked down into the water of the river. There he saw his own reflection. But the dog thought it was another dog with a bigger piece of meat.
The greedy dog wanted to get that meat too. So he barked loudly to scare the other dog. But as soon as he opened his mouth, his own piece of meat fell into the water. The river carried the meat away.
The greedy dog became sad. He realized that because of greed, he had lost everything.
Moral: Greed brings loss.

এক সময় একটি ক্ষুধার্ত কুকুর ছিল। একদিন সে রাস্তায় একটি মাংসের টুকরো পেয়েছিল। সে খুব আনন্দিত হলো এবং দ্রুত সেটি তুলে নিল। সে এটি একটি নিরাপদ জায়গায় খেতে চাইল। তাই সে একটি ছোট সেতুর দিকে হাঁটতে লাগল।

Once there lived a dog who was known for his greed. One morning, while roaming around, he found a fresh piece of meat lying near a butcher’s shop. He grabbed it happily and decided to go far away so that no one could take it from him.
He came to a narrow bridge over a stream. When he looked down, he was surprised to see the shadow of another dog holding a piece of meat. He became greedy and thought, “If I bark, the other dog will drop his meat, and I will get two pieces!”
Thinking this, he opened his mouth to bark. But immediately his meat slipped into the stream. He tried to catch it, but the water carried it away.
He stood silently and felt foolish. His greed had made him lose the meat he already had.
Moral: Too much greed leads to loss.

সে একটি খালের ওপরের সরু সেতুতে উঠল। নিচে তাকিয়ে সে আরেকটি কুকুরকে মাংস নিয়ে আছে ভেবেছিল। সে লোভে ভাবল, “আমি যদি ঘেউ ঘেউ করি, ওটা মাংস ফেলে দেবে। তাহলে আমি দুই টুকরো পাব!”
এই ভেবে সে ঘেউ ঘেউ করার জন্য মুখ খুলল। কিন্তু সাথে সাথেই তার মাংসটি স্রোতে পড়ে গেল। সে ধরতে চেষ্টা করল, কিন্তু পানি মাংসটিকে ভাসিয়ে নিয়ে গেল।
সে চুপ করে দাঁড়িয়ে রইল। লোভের কারণে সে নিজের মাংসও হারিয়েছে।
