একটা শিয়াল ছিল যার সুন্দর লেজ ছিল। অন্য শিয়ালরা তাকে খুব প্রশংসা করত। কিন্তু একদিন শিকারীরা তাকে ধরলো এবং তার লেজ কেটে দিল। শিয়ালটি লজ্জিত এবং দুঃখিত হলো।

শিয়ালটি ভাবলো, “আমি এখন আলাদা। অন্যদের বলব, লেজ হারানো আমার দোষ নয়। আমরা আমাদের দুর্বলতাকে মেনে নিতে পারি।”
